BUZZ

Here is something cool for all you stylists, aspiring stylists, and hair obsessives (that covers just about everyone, right?) ScissorCandy is a cool website created by hair stylists with editorial and stylist profiles. They also throw once a month party called Open Chair, where stylists meet at a local bar and create improv hairstyles on a stage on models they’ve never met before. Sounds like a great way to get some hair inspiration…. But I would be afraid to have my hair cut on stage in a dark bar.

WHAT MY DAILY THREAD HAD TO SAY ABOUT US…..

As curators of all things fine, we love it when we hear about other websites out there dedicated to providing quality content, especially when it’s from one of our deal partners!

Nick Jr. & Joey, sons of Nick Berardi (owner of Richard Nicholas Hair Studio), recently founded the website and social space, ScissorCandy. The website is “made by hair stylists for hair stylists” in an effort to bring the hairstyling community together for networking and collaboration. They have content “ranging from editorial, stylist profiles, blogs and a once a month party called Open Chair.” The website has sleek and sexy graphics that help paint the picture of ScissorCandy and it’s mission.

ScissorCandy describes Open Chair as the following, “A gathering of hair stylists, models, and mortals. It is an innovative event for a creative industry. Rather than an educational clinic, Open Chair allows hair stylists to network, socialize, and party. While getting together to share tips and inspirations, several stylists will showcase their craft on stage with live video projections illuminating the snips and clips.”

CAUGHT ON CAMERA

Scissorcandy.com is like the on-line version of Shear Genius. It offers various venues throughout the North East where hair stylists are given a public platform and filmed for the site while a local DJ is featured for his cool beats! Scissorcandy.com was created by innovator’s Joey Berardi, Donnie Moore, Nick Berardi Sr., Nick Berrardi III, Juaquin Cameron, Bill Ranney, Cal Davies and Corrie Moscow. This open forum for artistic members of the beauty industry in each community offers an unprecedented chance for them to be positioned as the hottest new stylist for their particular community. Now customers have a site where they can watch how a stylist snips and styles before booking their next appointment.
